My Momma used to say to me that the truth prevails. She would remind me that if someone was bad-mouthing me or lying on me, the truth prevails. It’s no easier waiting for the truth to come out now than it was back then! Do you have a situation in your life where you are waiting for the truth to come out? Has someone been lying on you or spreading rumors about you? Today’s Daily Quote is from Sojourner Truth, who’s birthday is today, November 18th, 2011. She was an amazing woman. She was born a slave but escaped with her young daughter. From that day on she was a very active abolitionist. She also was the first black woman to EVER win a court case against a white man. She said the following:
Truth is powerful and it prevails.
For today, let’s wait for the truth to come out. Let’s not fight against those who don’t believe us. Let’s not try to prove ourselves. Let’s just sit back and wait. The truth prevails in the long run. Trust in the truth. Trust in what you know. Trust the people around you who do believe you. They will fight for you better than you can fight for yourself.
If, for some reason, you lose someone as a friend over this situation you are facing, then were they really your friend in the first place? The truth prevails and that person will know the whole story at some point. I know it’s hard to sit back and wait. I know it’s much easier to get out there and fight and try to prove your point and your side. It isn’t as effective as you sitting back and waiting. The truth prevails and everyone will know at that point. They will also remember that you quietly sat back and waited. You will be vindicated in the end. Until then, focus on your breathing and ask the Universe for a speedy resolution.
