Don’t you just love hearing the truth? Even when there is bad news, for most of us, the truth is easier to handle. Today’s Quote is from Katherine Anne Porter, the best selling American novelist. She was born on May 15, 1890. Ms. Porter said the following:
It is such a relief to be told the truth.
Someone who is very close to me is having a hard time right now in her life. She is in the process of closing a business deal and it seems that everyone is lying to her. Hearing the truth from these people would be so much easier for her than this pool of uncertainty she’s swimming in right now. She can’t even trust the people she’s paying to represent her interests in this deal. When I read today’s Daily Quote, I wondered how many other people are going through that very same thing. I know that, in the long run, the truth prevails. It’s just getting to that point that is the daunting part at times.
For today, in our business and personal dealings, let’s make sure that we are coming from a place of complete authenticity. Let’s make sure that we are telling the whole truth to those around us. Hearing the truth and speaking the truth often go hand in hand. Sometimes we have to be the first to speak it, but by doing so, we start a wave of truth telling. I agree with Katherine Anne Porter, it sure does feel good to hear the truth. Even if it’s bad news, even if it’s hurtful news, even if it’s not what we want to hear, at least we KNOW it’s the truth and there is much comfort in that. Be that person to someone in your life today. Be that person that brings that comfort of complete honesty. You’ll feel better too you know.
