I’ve been wondering something. Why would we all not choose great things? Why are any of us settling for less than what we really want and deserve? Every day I hear people tell me that they have a good life and that they’re fine with what they have around them. Today’s Daily Quote is from Kenny Rogers, the American musician. He was born on August 21, 1938. He said the following:
Don’t be afraid to give up the good for the great.
For today, let’s look at what we really want versus where are right now in our lives. So many of us are living, in what most would consider, really good lives. I, personally, am very grateful for that fact. We have a roof over our heads, we have food in our bellies, our children are fed and warm and clothed. Many of us could, if we really look at it, have more, be more, do more, give more, etc.. The attitude of so many seems to be the whole “What I have is good. Why change anything?” thing.
For today, I choose to allow a shift from good to great. I choose great things, great love, great people around me, and just great every thing. Like our quote says, we have to give up the good to get to the great things. Life is always changing anyway. Complacency is never a good thing, despite how comfortable it may be to live there. Will you join me in allowing a shift from good to great?
