Do you have conditions for happiness set up in your life? Do you believe you will only be happy when _____ happens? Do you realize that happiness if something that comes from inside and nothing on the outside can give sustained happiness? What is your viewpoint on happiness and how to be happy on a continuing basis? Today’s Daily Quote is from Arthur Rubinstein, the American musician who was born on January 28, 1887. Mr. Rubenstein said the following:
Most people ask for happiness on condition. Happiness can only be felt if you don’t set any condition.
As I spend my days giving psychic readings, I see the conditions for happiness that many of my clients put on themselves, their lives and the people around them. How many of you feel you won’t be happy until you have that partner who loves you and is around all the time? We can’t receive love into our lives if we don’t first love ourselves. If we are unhappy people, looking for something from the outside to make us happy, we will remain unhappy people. Do you want to be the source of someone’s happiness? Can you shoulder that load? I know I can’t. So, why do you expect someone else to shoulder that load for you?
For today, let’s all look at our lives and see where we have set up conditions for happiness. If your say, “I’ll be happy when…”, then that is something you may want to look at today. If you are expecting another person to change so that you can be happy, that may be something else. If you can’t find any joy in your day to day because you are too worried about what may happen, you may want to give that a good comb-through, so to speak.
No one can make you happy but yourself. Happiness is an inside job. When you have this long list of conditions for happiness, you are only sabotaging yourself. Let’s all use today to double-check our own happiness meters.
