Find Your Power Animal – Animal Spirit Guides

Find Your Power Animal Animal Spirit GuidesWould you like to find your power animal? Just like human spirit guides, we all have animal spirit guides, also known as power animals as well. We all have one main power animal that stays with us our whole life. Sometimes that main guide steps back into the shadows to make way for a teaching guide to come in. By going back to my Irish/Celtic and Native American roots, I can hear the voices of those power animals. Native Americans refer to them as totems. I can listen for your power animal that best applies to your situation.

Do you have an animal that is around you a frequently? Do you have a favorite pet? Do you look up and notice the same animal is there in front of you over and over? Tell me what that animal is and lets look at what your power animal is trying to say to you.

By using the traits of your power animal, you can bring its power and knowledge into your life. Animals have long been revered for their ability to bridge the gap between the two worlds and bring messages from the Other Side. Allow me to assist you as we find your power animal and the message from your power animal today!

I believe that my animal spirit guide is the spider. As a child i would often dream of them. Throughout life I’ve almost been able to sense where they are. I can find them. Once I turned on the light in my room because I thought of one and found it in the corner of my room. A couple years ago I felt the need to look beneath the seat of my daughters bicycle and found two black widows. I found it strange enough to look up why this happens to me only to find that I should look for the signs. I am a Painter/drawer. I am an introvert. I like corners and prefer to be able to watch others and not be seen. I love to write and collect note books and journals, though I use few of them. More or less I feel the need to write. I feel that the spider is really a symbol in my life. The thing is, is that I’m not a huge fan. I like them. I think they are almost…majestic…in a way. But they kind of disturb me.

Oh, wow!!! Tim, I feel as though I wrote this! The same thing has happened to me as well. A few years ago, for absolutely NO “logical” reason (other than a sudden urge) I thought to myself – what if there is a black widow under my daughter’s chair (on our front porch). I flipped it over, and to my horror and intrigue, there it was! I dream about them from time to time, but the dreams leave a powerful impression on me each time. I also love to paint/draw. I am obsessed with buying journals, though I don’t fill them up by any means, nor are my entries collective/chronological. I have a strong dislike for spiders. I don’t trust them, so I immediately kill them when I find them. Then, (strangely) it ALWAYS rains within the next 24 hours. NEVER FAILS! The ONLY spider that is spared is the Daddy-Long-Legs. I call them all “Charlie” and will even hold them. Now I will have to look up the spider totem… THANKS!

I am kind of scared. I have been searching to find my totem, and have thought that mine may be the spider. After reading your comment I have a sense of confidence in my totem. You honestly just described the exact situations that I have found myself in. Down to the black widows under the bike seat. Thank you.

My companion through life right now is the spider. I never really realized it my whole life, until about 6 months ago, why I was the way I was, I am like Tim in the respect I have to sit in the corner where im unseen and can see everything. I have always had a deep respect for spiders, there very presence strikes I think everyone at there core to some extent. I seem to attract them and I can feel there eyes ever watchful. I have an agreement with them, the small little ones are welcome, they catch and eat the little bugs inside. But the big ones stay outside and we wont mess with them. So far so good. They do drop by to give us messages at times. I have always wanted to write, but hadn’t really had the chance thus far. In the mean time I like to draw sacred geometry and I am a classically trained percussionist gone rock drummer :)

I always denied it, cause I really wanted it to be a wild animal… But I’m pretty sure mine is the cat. Now that I’ve accepted it, looking in retrospect I see all the things cats taught me, all the times they showed up to me, and mostly, how a cat was my best friend in the most tough time of my life.

Elizabeth February 9, 2012 at 8:38 am

Does it help, Mimi, that the cat is the least domesticated and closest to wild of all our “pets”? :) I’m glad you had your cat friend with you during that time!

I believe my spirit animal is a cat.I grew up with many cats, most of them were outside cats but i did have two or three inside cats.I was abused growing up and after being abused my one pet cat would always come up to me and rub his head on my arm and purr.Petting him made me feel better and when he passed away i was heart broken. We had many outside cats at our old home and when i felt depressed or scared i’d go outside and sit with them and pet them till i felt better.I have this thing i guess you can call it a feeling when a cat is near.Whats weird maybe is they always kinda show up when i’m feeling sad, scared or confused.I had a pet siamese named Cleo and i loved her very much.I don’t know why but one day i felt something was wrong so i called my mother an found out she had cancer and was dying. She past away on January 10th and i was really upset cause i wanted to see her one more time before she passed but i didn’t get the chance.Still i find that cats seem to find me when i’m in some kind of need.I see their traits in me i also have a lot of curiosity, independence, and i am very much nocturnal.

I believe my animal guide must be the crow because they seem to be always outside near by. I really do not like crows I find them offensive and obnoxiouse after all they always go for the garbage but could they actually be my friends. Once one actually landed on my head a few years ago and then immediately flew to some tree above, I was really afraid and felt it was attacking me. But there’s also lots of pigeons around here too, also very dirty after garbage or scraps. I’m not much attracted to any of them. Animals I like are eagles, hawks, wolves, elephants, cows, horses and whales and dolfins. I love beautiful colored birds, blue birds are high on my list but also gold finces, canaries and parrots. I really love lots of animals but I am terrible at taking care of pets and myself really also. I live alone and just want guidance from anyone, animal or otherwise, who is my female soulmate or do I even have any soul mate at all who understands me, loves me and likes only to be around me to help me. Come to think of it I believe my favorote animal is the whale along with the elephant. Sorry, I’m not meaning to confuse you.

Just because you don’t like an animal does not mean it still can’t teach you something from it’s traits. Crows are BIG MEDICINE spirit animals. They are VERY powerful messengers from Spirit.

ICrows are amazing, people dislike what they fear or believe is considered a symbol of bad news death. I have always had crow come and talk to me , they look into your soul and talk to you. I have had a wild crow come into my yard, I didnt know at the time that she/he was sick. he/she alowed me to care for it touch it I nursed her and she died in my arms. I have witnessed crows in a ceromony . paying respects to a dead crow. about 30 crows formed a circle . there was quiet then one crow at a time flew down to the dead crow in the middle of the circle they had formed and crowed to pay respect and flew off. this went on for nearly 3/4 hr. when they all left I went and picked the body of the dead crow up and took it to a resting place under a tree and covered it with stones. I have dream messages from crows and they talk to me. I hear the sharp crow sound when I ask myself for direction. I paint crows.
I am not a morbid, sadistic or cult person. I dislike the negative attachment to these amazing inteligent birds. I feel these birds in my heart and sense them near. I am an artist with a deep connection with the earth and its spiritual connection to all living creatures. Fear will always disconect us from what is natural and real. Maybe the crow landing on your head was trying to wake you up. . I connect with cats also.

I believe that my animal guide would be the cat. I have two one young one a few months old and an older one about 5-6. The older it seems is always there for me, it used to bite me or.not like it when I touched her but now I can pet her anywhere. She sleeps under covers with me and sometimes I swear when I talk to her she understands me. When I don’t feel well it kinda seems as if she.knows and she comes close and rubs against me and pure. Then shell just.sit next to me. I Lind of see me being her in a way. But I’m not so sure

I’ve been wondering what my spirit animal is for awhile now. I truly love all animals, but I have an affinity for marine life (whales, dolphins, sharks) and snakes. However, I read somewhere that when one survives an attack by an animal, historically that means that that is the persons spirit animal. When I was 4 and when I was 8 I was bitten by two different dogs, suffering bites which needed stitches. Somehow however, I came out still loving dogs & to this day have no negative feelings towards dogs & have had them as pets. Any help figuring out my Spirit Animal would be greatly appreciated!

If you are attacked / bitten / stung / whatever by an animal, you should at the very least assume you are being taught a lesson by that animal. For your specific animals, you can book a reading and we can take a look.

So this may sound quite loony but spiders are always around me, they won’t leave me alone they dont harm me but I have quite a giant feat of them. And there is this one spider in my bathroom and he has been killed several times and..I think he’s still there because I still see the little guy I feel terrible when I kill them and usually try to avoid that but they scare me. So this same spider (I think) was on my bed before I crawled into it just feels like they are always there and when I think of not wanting them to do something for example like come closer or be on my bed, they do exactly that. What do I do?

Hello I am not sure if the cat is my animal totem but it has been the only animal that has actually chosen me unlike my other animals for example: my cat “Swartz” chose me when she was a kitten as did another cat, my grandpa had a cat with kittens but every other kitten or litter that she had were all wild, but my cat would jump up into the bed and sleep with me and my grandpas little dog I just thought it was kind of interesting that both cats did the exact same thing as kittens. Do you have any comments for me?

I did a meditation to find my spirit animal and to my surprise conected with a black panther. I researched it and I couldnt believe how much it described my life and lessons.
Early last year I encountered a snake in my yard i was terrified and i killed it, i felt horribly guilty for over a year and wished I could take back my actions because I would normally never hurt an animal and I’m vegetarian and an animal rights activist. Then recently at a fair I held a huge snake and I couldnt believe how beautiful it was, I felt really connected to it and it nestled into my arm.
This week I had a dream about pitbull dogs in cage fights which was disturbing, when I looked at facebook over my morning coffee I seen about 7 post with photos of pitbulls in my news feed from 3 different ppl!

Dear Elizabeth,

I try so very hard to be apprehensive towards these non-physical life elements, but I keep being drawn in. I am trying so deseperately to figure out my life without the “extra” help, but I keep turning back to this. I have an insatiable desire to become a mother, and although I really want to find a partner to match me, I understand that I will probably never have a long-lasting relationship with another adult. I keep trying to make connections between what psychics have told me and my previous lives, and I just can’t trust myself enough to believe what I come up with. Ever since I read the “His Dark Materials” trilogy as a child, I have always been interested in my animal spirit guide. However, I must say I have never had an affinity towards one animal more than another. I grew up around cats and dogs. I’ve never liked birds, as the flapping of their wings inexplicably terrifies me. I love the qualities of foxes and owls, and I most recently had a terrifying encounter with a deer. I will stop now, I have said too much. Do you have an idea of how I can straighten things out?

Sincerely,
Candace

I have a strong suspicion that my totem is a dog. Specifically of the hunter breeds. I have always had a dog in the family and as strange as it sounds they have always been who I’ve talked to as a kid about problems. When I became an adult after a bit I found myself needing a dog. Once again my dogs are who I talk to and they always seem to walk in the room and stop me or protect me right before I’m about to do something stupid. It’s a strange relationship we always seem to have. Does that make them an animal totem for me? I don’t know. I think I’ve developed a journey totem as well. Over the last two to three months i’ve been randomly surrounded by dragonflies. LARGE dragonflies. I live in a crowded city and have never seen them here. Now I’ve even found one in my house. They swirl around my window though. Any thoughts?

Elizabeth August 2, 2012 at 8:58 am

We have main guides, like dogs and we have teaching guides, like dragonflies. I would say since you felt in need of a dog, and you talked to a dog (which is not strange) then yes, you can rest assured the DOG is your main guide.

i believe that ONE of my totem animals is a cat, other than my typical encounters of cats tending to find me and encourage me to either follow or engage with them, cats that i have owned or taken care of have always seemed to comfort and release inner happiness with just a simple touch, meow or gaze. my own 2 cats (rescued) have slept with me and seem to unsderstand when i have dreamt about them, they teach me to comfort and love openly and to never take life seriously. my relationship with them is more than love but respect.nare these all honest signs that they may be my main totem?

I don’t know why, but everywhere i go at sometime i see a wolf. It started when i was little. my favorite blanket was one that had two wolves on it, then at school a woman read us books that had wolfs in it and explained how nice wolves are. As i got older, all my favorite books had wolfs in it in some form or another, id see them at book stores, in the mall, peoples t-shirts, tattoos, everywhere. Even when i got into Role-playing (as weird as it sounds) the people around me or who found me through connections for our games had Wolf themed characters. I’ve always been afraid of dogs, but wolfs don’t bring up the same fear for me.

When i look at them be it on TV, pictures, once at a zoo, etc. i always see a being to be respected, thoughts of tight family bonds, strength and courage comes to mind. they seem so smart and i know they can be dangerous, but i think… no i feel if they came across you, they wouldn’t kill you unless they had no choice. i almost feel like they’d be more willing to help then kill. but i could just be seeing them through rose colored glasses for all i know. never ran into one in the wild.

Elizabeth August 2, 2012 at 9:01 am

Cassandra – just a tip – if you do see a wolf in the wild, don’t go up to pet it!! :) Wolves are very power-full totems! Dogs and wolves are completely different animals. I understand that fear of one but not the other thing you have going on. Thanks for posting this!

I’ver come through the Animal Totem couple of years ago, felt very attracted to its wisdom, Studied it with a wonderful teacher who couldn’t finish her instruction because had to undergo a major head operation.
Being so keen to continue my education regarding the Totem, although I worked with the cards and am developing through it, I took another course with a wonderful teacher who is enriching me day by day.
Firstly I heard from him about POWER ANIMALS and by some traits and signs he told me that my Power Animal is probably the wolf. I had also received by a meditation called “Angel Walks” received the name Wolf.
What’s the way to find my Power Animal? I Would be very thankful for your answer.

I believe my power animal is the dog. Since childhood I’ve been into dogs of any kind. I’ve been drawing dogs and been growing up with dogs, both small and big ones. I’ve always had a great connection with dogs and somehow been able to understand them better than my family members. I have a bunch of examples where dogs have had an impact in my life. For example, when I was a kid growing up in Sweden with my dad and mum, I was my neighbor’s dog’s best friend, literally. Another example was when my dad’s other neighbor, that time where we moved back to Denmark, abused his mastiff; it became fearful and aggressive towards other, except me. Of course we’ve had our moment, where I sneaked into their yard during the winter to see how their dog was (it was outside 24/7 with almost no food and water), where it bit me, twice, out of fear, obviously. However I refused to be scaried or to react, and kept trying, while crying like a pig, to get her inside their garage where it could find shelter until the day after, where my dad decided to take care of her….. And besides those events I’ve now two German shepherds at my dad’s place.

Well….. As everyone can see, dogs have always been a part of my life, even in my past dreams as some kind of guardian or protector. Dogs have always been attached to me somehow, even dogs I’ve just met! I feel pretty sure that dogs are my lifelong totem/power animal. :-)

I had strange encounters with dogs. Initially I took pity of a stray female dog which I had to spend a dollar to buy a bun to feed her once every night at the site I found her. Later the number of strays (mostly puppies) grew to 7 and they had to share the limited food I could afford to buy. One of the puppy which I named browny was frail and sickly. Then one night while I was feeding them, a large black dog turn up and it came forward and placed its head on my left lap wanting me to pat him. I looked at him , tears followed from my eyes and my heart was fiiled with compassion because he was standing on only 3 legs. I looked towards the dark sky , begging the divine to give me the strength and means to help them. Feeling of sorrow with tears flowing from my heart it suddenly turned into unconditional love. At that moment, everything stop like a standstill , there was no more surrounding, no dogs , no self and no saddness. That night I had a strange dream. In the dream a voice taught me a way to ask for divine help and also showed me that the method could also be used for destruction. As time passed by I continued feeding them . Browny was in bad shape and I sent her to the vet with the limited fund I had. After the treatment, that was the only moment I saw her in happy mood. A week later, all the strays were caught and were put to sleep by the town council. After this, I encountered 7 dreams continueously for 7 nights. Each dream different dogs communicated with me. The first one a female pup name Beauty, she did not say anything but only bow to me many times. The second one a female too named Ah Yan , she pledged that they (all stray dogs) will always be around to protect and help meand my family when needed. Browny still looked frail in the dream but always sat by my side. The method which was taught to me in the first dream is just hand gesture and strong affirmation of my desire. I use it many times and very effective.

Well I would like to know my animal, spiritual stuff interests me. Simply the thought that each person around me spirits can relate to animals nature and more. Many of my friends have traits that I could simply say i only have seen in animals. One friend is a big on the idea of rebirth, she;s said she has had paranormal experiences with such stuff so i’d like to know what she is as well. Although i have researched it and i think she is a bat its sort of unknown to me. Personally i believe mine is a Fox, and its only taken me a few years to recognize my drawn interest in them. Since i was young i had obsessions with many animals but it was just a childish love for them but now at my age i have seen foxes live they are majestic in my eyes but to the others around they see them as a nuisance. Partly in my dreams they occasionally appear but i never was one for remembering my dreams but when i do there is the chance they appear there but other animals don’t or they just don’t stick out. Even around others I have gained the nickname fox, but in different languages like Kitsune and occasionally i was named Vixen as it means a female fox because of my personality. I seem to by quite intelligent according to those around me although I rarely would admit to anything like that. Also it seems my hearing is stronger than others around me, since no one im related even could hear what i could through blasting music i could still make out and listen to conversations around me of those who sat at other tables, and despite my need of glasses my sight, if in a long distance is excellent too. This all ended up causing my nickname as fox. I am quite a confident person, well In matters i need i will always show confidence for my friends and my family, i refuse to back down whenever they are involved it seems almost instinctive when they are in danger or arguments and I enjoy sitting down quietly and reading which normally leads to me being blended into crowds which gives me the silence i occasionally like to watch the actions and movements of others their differences can be quite interesting. Although im like all this i change my moods quickly, all most to quickly but I can be quite a nice person to others if i Like them, but if i like them or not seems to give me a gut feeling if they are a person i would deem worthy of trusting. I had never been one to trust others easily since i was bullied a lot when i was younger but that just ended up making me a lot stronger. A prey cornered will fight back and although i never exactly thought back physically I get back eventually although i wouldn’t resort to dangerous methods or doing anything remotely like they did I easily show my dislike for them and use what ever i know or can find out from observation.

I believe that the cat is my animal spirit, that is because when ever I have a cat in my home, it’s usually a female cat and that is not by choice. If I would let female company come over, and I go into the bedroom and close the door, she would come and try to open the door by sticking her paws under the door. If I let her in, she will climb up next to me and sit or lay by side and look at the female that is in there with, with the look as to say he is mine. Cats have come running up to me just by the sound of my voice.

Hi Elizabeth, I would like to share my experience animal totems. Several years ago I was visited by Barred Owls. Up until that time I had never seen or heard one in real life, and actually was unaware they even existed. You can imagine the experience of hearing their powerful, magnificent calls for the first time! They appeared at about 10PM one evening. I walked out to the front yard to investigate the strange sounds I was hearing. They had made a triangle – one in the pine trees directly beside the house, one in the trees across the street and one in the trees one the other side of the house in our neighbor’s yard. I listened to the calls for several minutes and saw one fly from the pine trees directly over the house to another pine tree in the back yard. For days after I couldn’t shake the feeling that somehow their sudden appearance had some meaning. Unfortunately, within a few months my mother was diagnosed with dementia and had to quit her job and stop driving. Needless to say it was a big life change for the family. I had been helping look after her since my father had passed away a few years before. Ever since that time the owls have came back, usually only a few times a year. What I have noticed is that for most of those visits, it has directly preceded another significant level of decline in my mothers illness – ones that require a different level of caregiving. I seem to be able to tell which visits are the warning type. They are when the owls come directly to the trees in our yard, and the intensity of their visit feels very strong. The last two (and only two so far this year) have been very powerful. The first one happened on May 6th which also happened to be a full moon. This visit was one of the most intense ones I can remember and something unusual happened. As mentioned, they typically form a triangle in the trees surrounding the house. One owl flew from one tree in to another tree already occupied by another owl. I’m not sure if the incoming owl attacked the other or if it just fell. I just saw the one owl go into the tree and then saw a single owl fall (not swoop) to the ground. The fallen owl was flailing around on the ground in a chaotic manner and screeching. It appeared that it had broken a wing or had injured itself and could no longer fly. It was very dark in the area below the tree and I quickly ran inside to get a flashlight but when I returned the owl had vanished. 3 months later my mom became very ill and fell one night while getting a drink of water. She had to be hospitalized and is still recovering in a nursing home, unable to fully walk on her own. The 2nd owl visit came just days before she fell and , in contrast to the May visit, felt very subdued, solemn, and reverent. Some may view this as the owl being a harbinger of bad news but I choose not to view it that way. They seem to be portents of great change and I feel it is a gift to have been visited in such a manner. Somehow, recognizing the connection of their visitations has given me the ability for greater acceptance of the realities of my mom’s illness, however unpleasant it has been, and that acceptance has made a huge difference! I try to pay attention to animal visitations and learn as much as I can from them. Thank you for the wonderful website!

Hi well I’m a little new to all of this but here goes…
I’ve been thinking for so many years now that I have an animal guide but it wasnt until recently when I went to a Safari with Lions and Tigers ect… In that it really came to me.
I looked at the Tiger as we came for the second time around and it’d been pacing its cage all afternoon, as soon as we stopped by its cage it stopped and stared at me for a good few moments before it returned to pacing, in those few moments I felt odd…I’m not sure how to explain it, connected maybe? Like he or she was trying to tell me something? The same with the Lioness I saw. Just stopped and stared for a few moments, now I suppose it could have been conicidence and such but I’m not a big believer in all of that, I think everything happens for a reason.
Anyway I’m not sure if its possible to have two Animal Spirit Guides as I’m exptionally new to all this but I have visions of walking in between a tiger (normal orange colour) and a white lioness.
I’ve always seen this image and ALWAYS been close to these two animal spirit guides, sometimes keeping them at bay but more often recently allowing them to connect with me more profoundly.
I’d love to hear what you think if thats possible? Thanks for letting me share this.
All the best,
Cat.

Tell me how do I know I’ve found my spirit guide. I believe mine is a black bear. I will go to the zoo with my little cousins. We find the enclosure where the black bear lives. He comes to me and puts his paws on the class. Often I see black bears and I live in Ohio so it’s very rare to see them. They come into my dreams, some are white.

I’m not sure why you’re doubting this. How many of us have seen black bears “often”? No hands? :)

Sergei September 24, 2012 at 2:54 pm

Without going into too many stories, which believe me -there are plenty. I have some reason to believe that my spirit guide is the domestic dog. I’ve come to realization due to thinking about events in my life, major and not, and I’ve been able to see the reoccurring similarity of a dog. I was adopted out of St.Petersburg, Russia at a very young age, and from the earliest memory I had relayed onto my from adoptive parents was my interest and what they described as an obsession of the small dog that ran around the adoption home. My first word actually, now that I think about it, was the sound, “Auff” which was presumably the noise I associated with the dog barking. Beside a bear that I was given to, my favorite toy growing up was in fact a dog hand puppet off a television show named Spot, (I still have the toy on my bookshelf). It, over the many years of travel and use, had become slightly tattered and it’s once black nose, now white because the paint rubbed off over time. However, I never had a living dog of my own growing up for the most part, because of my mother’s severe asthma. I did, in turn, help the local neighbors out with their dogs and started a small dog walking business. This however faded over time with me moving and becoming older. Shortly after our move though, we ended up finding a dog breed (Labradoodle) that was hypo-allergenic and that my mother (still to this day) does not react negatively towards. He is without a doubt my best friend. Aside from living with my own dog at this point, I wasn’t exactly connected with dogs exterior to that. There was a time however, that my father and I were driving home from somewhere and along the way home I saw a dog walking down the road. My father, who was driving, kept going but after demanding we turn around and help it we ended up turning around only to find it was hit my car. I don’t believe even five minutes passed between the time we passed and returned. We got out of the car to see how badly it was injured and grabbed a blanket out of the back of our car to cover it. The police were called and we left. Since then, every time I’m driving or with someone driving and a dog is walking on the road alone I stop without question. After that, nothing much in terms of personal connection to the animal happened, until more recently. I am currently twenty years of age and going through a lot of life changes, and I ended up hitting a massive depressive state and pushed everyone away (or at least tried to) During this rough time I came up with the idea of volunteering at the local animal shelter and working with homeless dogs. It has saved me.

Perhaps, I’m completely off with my entire perception of my spirit animal guide and this is a typical experience. If so, I’m sorry for writing you a novel about it. If by rare chance I’m on to something then how do I become sure of this?
Thanks, Sergei.

Elizabeth September 27, 2012 at 7:07 am

Sergei, I’m fairly certain that these are not “typical experiences”. Wait, can I see a show of hands of everyone who stops every time they see a lone dog walking down the road? There is just your hand up in the air there Sergei!! :) I, personally, live in the country so I see dogs walking along the road more than I see people walking along the road. If I stopped for every one, I’d never get to where I was going!

I’m glad you came up with the volunteering at the shelter idea. What a great decision!!!! Way to go Sergei and thank you for sharing!!

I dont know how to explain this but for some reason black cats seem to advise me everytime something negative is going to happen to me. Fo r intance if i see one and i get a weird unexplained feeling in my chest that means something will happen, but if i see one and i dont i know nothing is going to happen. Same thing goes with lights, when lights go out on me i know something is going to happen when i get that same feeling. I would rather not know when something bad is coming my way but it wont stop. Also, my dreams help me know things I dont want to know. Could you please explain what this means if it means anything? thank u!

Not sure if its possible to have more then one but thats how i see it (that or my spirit animal needed help with me hehe) i meditate alot even on the run or when i have to get to classes and even though i mostly just wander in my meditations or something guides me to learn something im not sure who or what

Dear Elizabeth,
ever since I can remember I’ve loved bears, mostly grizzly bears but I’ve always found all of them absolutely beautiful. When I was a small child my room was decorated with images of bears with their fierce yellow eyes, or with their cubs. I’ve had dreams of them in wooded areas, myself playing with them (or perhaps not myself, just the perspective). I love to watch them on television and they are the first animal I visit at the zoo, although it makes me sad to see them there. I saw a black bear in the wild three months ago, it was a beautiful and terrifying experience but when it left across the field on a neighbors farm I ran home, entirely ecstatic because I’d been dreaming of seeing a bear in person since I was very small. I know there is some kind of connection there, however I do not see what kind of connection they have to me or what bears as a guide says about you. I am an extremely loving and loyal person but I can get very aggressive if I feel that something is wrong. I am humble and I have a strong sense of right and wrong, I have a great sense of humor and family is very important to me, could this be my guide?

Reply

Elizabeth October 31, 2012 at 7:54 am

Grace – it’s a pretty good rule of thumb that any animal you feel THAT connected to is, at the very least, a teaching guide. Most of the time, they are indeed your main guide. I love bears too! I fed a bear dog food out of my hands when I was a kid. I thought my Momma was going to have a heart attack! Thanks for sharing your story.

I do believe that my spirit animal is the wolf. They always do have a way of finding me, and me finding them. I truly do love these animals! They make me feel at home when I see one! They are so loyal! And I have come to trust them as my friends of nature. One time a coyote was running at me, and then a wolf stepped in the way and helped me! I was extremely grateful for my new friend!

I’ve noticed recently that throughout my life and when I meditate I see a snake. I thought that perhaps a snake was my spirit animal, but I’m absolutely terrified of snakes. I decided to keep an open mind and see what characteristics a snake may fit as a spirit animal. I found that snakes mean rebirth, health, slyness, and confidence, none of which describe me. I’m a huge scaredy-cat who’s always sick and I’ve never experienced any sort of “rebirth” in my life. Do you think that maybe a snake is not my spirit animal? Or should I give the snake another chance?

I see my cat as very special companion. When I go to bed, she comes to me to sleep, purring away my thoughts into a dream. She guides my through the shadows, she helps me with nature. Somehow, my cat and I somehow bonded good, even though she is Bipolar. She protects me during the day. I believe the Cat is my spirit animal. I see the cat in my dreams. It is always my camouflage-furred cat. She loves the outdoors, like I do. She loves going to the forest with me, and when I found her as a kitten in my yard, all abandoned, she always fallowed me. Even though I never really payed attention to her until she finally grew up. I love cats, I love dogs, but cats are better for me. I always dream with a cat at my side. Either the cat transforms into a human, or a human transforms into a cat! These cats are mystical creatures!

This is crazy, so i have been in a abusive relation ship for 15 years i started to get very sick from stress psychically and mentally two years ago. 8 years ago i had a child since then i have been telling my self i had to make a survival plan to get out of this relationship and gain my independence back. 2 months ago i did just that. There was a huge storm of stressful situations that happened between people i really didnt know. Each incident that took place was some one playing the victim as if i was the aggressor. Which oddly enough played a huge role in me regaining my freedom and independence. I thought if all these people are treating me this way and lying to police officers and proceving me as some one i totally em not and they dont even know me. Why would i stand to be treated equally as poor at home were i should feel the safest? . Some how this was jusified in my mental state, and at that time God said i will open the door for you but you have to walk through it. And he did and i did. I have been feeling alot better and my stress factor has been lower giving me time tom rest and heal. My father Woody, had watched me go through this relationship heart broken to see his daughter stressed and worried all of the time, he would comfort me with his thought s of what a great person and how my husband was fool for treating me the way he did. and guiding me mentally to get through it.. One month that i had been out of this realtionship and Well 28 days ago my father passed away and at the time of his death there was more stress and drama being caused by neighbors of his and siblings of mine. He was accullay on life support and i had to be the voice of reason to make the decision to take him off. and i did, after the doctors told us he would never get off and no chance of recovery. His body had declared itself. It is not a easy decision to make to end someones life. I didnt want him to just keep dying over and over again and the psychical trauma it does to ones body is crazy. Any how, i was holding his head when he took his last breath. After he died everyone left and i stayed in the room for about a hour. And then went home. I had a hour drive to go home and had been in the hospital for 7 so i was tired emotionally and Psychically drained. As i was driving home my first animal that came out of nowhere was a Owl a huge Owl no barn Owl it was like a owl you would see in the deep woods, I was leaving the Park Presidio getting ready to cross the GG bridge in SF.The Owl came out of nowhere and crossed in front of me and landed in the gulf off the side of the street It was very precise on to land facing me and stared me straight in the eye s. At first i was slightly startled but realized my instinct was not scared just startled, due to the fact that i was driving fast in a dark area. It was one of the coolest things i have ever seen amazing. Next it was a cat came out in front of me and then a rabbit and a crow all crossing in front of me within a hour drive home. After the Owl, I sensed to pay extra attention to my driving, due to the fact i was so tired. These animails were was stooping me from going my normal speed. Any how as i got home i was just about to take my exit and my father said to me loud and clear GO TO MY HOUSE NOW! At first i was like ok your cooko and tired and you really need to get some sleep. Again my dad s voice was saying go to his house which he lived 15 minutes more up the freeway. . So i got back on the freeway and went to his house, to find his house had been broken into. Someone kicked the door in and stoles over 12,000.00 dollars worth of musical equipment. As i entered the house i could tell that someone had just been there. I retrieved as much as i could that was of value and his $5,000.00 in cash that was not found yet. Well last night i was coming home taking the same exit as i was the night my father died ( and yelled go to my house.) And at the exact same location a snowy white owl crossed in front of me again procisely flying directly across like to on purpose interrupted my movement. Again i was not scared and found no fear in my first instinct Again it was very cool it was very cool. I had said a prayer as my dad was in the hospital many weeks ago to ask my animal spirits to help protect me and get me through this whole thing with my independence and my father dying, recently i had started to question myself if i did the right thing with taking my dad off life support., which triggered my stress factor. And it is amazing that i have came into contact with two owls in the last 28 days. I have only seen two Owls in my whole life before 28 days ago. Should i be looking out for anything? Are these just random couinsedences? Or is there a higher meaning to it ? I do think it is funny that my dads name is a Woody. Wasn’t there a owl from the 60s that was called Woody? on some tv show? or was it woodsy and did it have to do with the fire department? CRAZY BUT KINDA COOL! Mabe my dad has taken the spirt of a owl? What do you think? Thanks, Wildflower. P.S Sorry for all the typos i tired and a terrrible speller

Hi, I am brand new to animal guides and have been reflecting on any animals that have been significant in my life. As a child I was facinated by owls and wolves (I would draw them repeatedly). We have always had dogs in my family and I am very attached to them. Throughout my life dogs have always gravitated towards me whether stray or otherwise. They have always consoled me when I am sad. I, like my parents, hear our old family dog’s collar jingle once in a while even though he has passed three years ago. I have recently had a maternal craving to get a dog of my own. In the last year I have noticed more cats in my life, I have had reccuring dreams of them invading my home for a couple months (one night there was a dog trying to help me get rid of them). I would find it strange if the cat were my guide considering the fact that I’m a bit leery of them (i respect them but they scare me a little). I have been swatted at without claws twice by cats I tried to befriend. So I’m confused, I don’t know what animal is my guide, is it a dog or a both?

I would need to do a reading to find out for sure … however … remember we have a main guide and then teaching guides pop in and out as needed.

I have begun to beleive mine is a wolf.I live in a wooded area and there is a pack of wolves near my house but one in particular comes to the edge of the woods every time i’m home or in the yard…..I named him Faolan it is Celtic/Gaelic name meaning wolf, Faolan is completely black with beautiful blue eyes.We have not come to close to each other but he is there every day.He just stands there without doing anything for a good few minutes except to stare at me after that he would go back to the pack.Once have I ever seen him with another wolf in with him in my yard, it was smaller than him by a good few inches and looked pretty young, it’s fur was brown with different markings all over it’s body but that was the first and last time I saw the young one.I get dreams about the wolves every night.Last night’s dream was of the same one I have every night.I start out in a dark room and then Faolan shows up except he is larger than a normal wolf and we just sit there and stare at each other.Well anyway hope no one took this as a joke when they read this and I will most likely share again sometime. :)

Dear Elizabeth,
I have read some of your Power Animal totems and also read some people’s stories, and I must say, some of them are amazing. But I have had very odd dreams lately. Acouple of months ago I had a strange dream. I saw myself walking out of my bedroom and down the hall, then out of the house, after I walked down the driveway, I started jogging, then running, while I was walking, though, I was looking at my feet, then when I was jogging, I looked up, then while running I looked down again for a moment and saw paws, pitch black paws with long claws on them. I was running down my street and through my neiborhood, then out of it. I kept running until I came to a large forest. I walked through it until I came to a clearing, surrounded by bramble, bushes and trees. I saw 2 other animals. A white wolf and a orange-red fox. Later at school I told my freinds, they claimed to have the same dream, but only seeing a black wolf coming. Thats when I realized I was a wolf. My freind, the white wolf, told me before that I was a wolf, but I never really believed her until I had that dream. Later on I had two other dreams, simmilar to the first one. And I sometimes see wolves in my bedroom at night time, but only at night. My freind only sees wolves during the day. My freind says that I represent night time, while she represents day time. Like the sun and moon. I still don’t know whether my animal is a wolf or not. But I had the dreams and still hear them howling…

I think mine is some kind of big bird, I’ve always loved birds and I love to draw them, I live by the woods and I like I go walking in the woods and I see all kinds of birds, sometimes a big raven or a hawk. I always see birds really close to me when I go in the woods. The most frequent birds I’ve seen is a crow. I’ve had a dream about one couple nights ago. The crow in my dream was flying above me blocking the sun on me while I was walking in the middle of nowhere, I forgot the rest though. Could it be a crow or raven as my spirit guide? Should I find out more information?

I used to believe my spirita animal was the wolf because I had a dog who is a Husky and I felt a strong connection to him. After doing some research I came to fall in love with the descriptions of the Fox and thought that might be my spirit animal because I liked how the fox is clever and stealthy and while I think I can be clever on occasion and I mostly use stealth to get what I want I thought the Fox might be too good for me. Now I’ve read up on the Cat and The Coyote and I can kind of agree with both. The only reason I have a strong resonation with the Cat is because I have this character that I created and he is supposed to be a depiction of my inner self. Anyway I drew him to resemble a Fox because the Fox is one of my favorite animals, but everyone says he looks like a cat. I think its because he wears a mask over his face to hide his identity. Could he be a Fox in disguise or is he really just a cat afterall?

It is up to the individual person looking at what you drew … they see what they are supposed to see in it. :)

I think mine is a dog. I see a dog everywhere I go, outside my house, in the house (i own a dog), in shops, downtown, parks, and even in gas stations! They are everywhere! I feel like I have learned so much from them, their loyalty and help. When I visit friends who have dogs, their dogs would never leave my side, they would stick close or come closer or maybe even sleep with me. Dogs are my passion, they are my life. I love all types of dogs. I know so much about them.

Hi Elizabeth!
Can I just say how glad I am to have found your website and read everyone talking about their animal guides. I’m 25 and lately I’ve been talking to my friends about animal guides and I think they think I’m a bit mad. I believe my animal guide is a spider. When I was a child all I used to draw was a spider with ten legs and I’ve always been fascinated and admired them. I dream of them alot and I dance with them and let them cruel over my face or the dream could be them just appearing in my hand, like they are holding it to let me know they support me. As a child I used to pick them up, but now I feel a little afraid of them. I have always been told by school teachers that I should be a writer and I’ve always worked on it, but can easily get distracted. I have many creative hobbies such as painting, photography. Like the spider I am very in tune with my senses and emotions, do a lot of things on my own. I can also be a little destructivr at times as well. Whenever I feel sad and not sure if I’m on the right track in lifr a house spider always comes along and watches me, like to let me know I’m not alone. Little spiders appear on my hand on dangle behind my glasses. Its like they know I’m a little scared so they only let the little ones appear on my body. I actually tell people how its bad luck to kill them. I know thats not true, but least it saves some of them :). I am organising a date to meet up with a friend who owns tarantulas. I feel brave enough to conquer my fear and hold one. I hold them in my dreams and feel so much love radiating off of them, so I think its time to get closer to thrm. You never know maybe I’ll own one as a pet one day. I’m sure I’ll be able to get over my little fear ;)

I am really sure my guide is a wolf. I was at the zoo in Alaska once an three of the wolves stopped eating to look at me when I stopped. I felt as though I was connected to them . Now whenever I go to zoos I stop at the wolf enclosures to see if it happens again so far only once.

I then saw the other links for things like spirit guides. I have always loved animals, but cats and dogs specifically. I actually have three cats and a dog. But I’m not quite sure they are my spirit guides. I often have extremely vivid and detailed dreams, especially ones dealing with flying. Could it be possible that one of my spirit guides is a bird of some sort. I hope you get to read this. Your probably busy, but I think you may know some things that will be really helpful.

I had very vivid dreams last night, extremely vivid I may add… in one scenario I had opened a door and a black panther was sitting yet staring right at me for a few minutes I said no words, no fear, just looked into it’s eyes than I closed the door but as I closed the door… I was on the side that the panther was at and the panther was now a black cat in the room I was in, the room was dark you could barely see the cat, but I saw it than I closed the door. The next scenario took place with a group of people at least 6 including myself, we we’re running from something than we made it to a mexican restaurant, there were a lot of men working there. The people I was with ordered food I didn’t as I kept looking outside waiting for our bus to come, the #30, I knew they were not my friends/family I was just traveling with them. After 20 minutes or so I looked outside the door, keep in mind we were in a foreign country, maybe mexico maybe not.. I looked outside and I saw a big white bus coming and it read 30, I saw the 30, told them lets go it’s here.. As soon as it got there, their food was made same time…they left there food and we began running toward the bus. I had a bag of clothes for some reason and a girl who was running along side of me, ripped it as I was carrying it and I began to pick up my clothes than power ran into the bus. The bus was full, I sat in the back and the girl sat in the back but on the side chairs than she began calling me out, hey let’s fight and I was like yea we will, I took off my purse and put my clothes to the side got up while the bus was full and aimed for her face I barely tapped her she somewhat felt it than I backed off and sat down and noticed she was in a wheelchair, thing is she wasn’t in a wheelchair when she was calling me out.. Than I get up again go up to her and say hey im not goin to hit you were in the bus and you’re in a wheelchair than we laugh and I sat back down. The next scenario I was definitely in a foreign county, Guatemala to be exact, because at this point myself and about 20 people were in a bus with no roof top traveling and I noticed a parking structure with different work vehicles and one read “la cuidad de Guatemala” right in front of us and to the left side there was a strange structure, as if the government was taking control of the city through machines, it was strange, it didn’t belong there… the bus passed it, as we passed it I took a photo and than we passed a city, seemed like a bunch of poverty stricken homes painted with colorful graffiti, I took a snapshot.. than Boom… Im walking through this city, with at least 10 people in front of me, 3 are my cousins, I’ve never met these cousins but I felt they were, two girls one boy, the oldest girl was 13 or so she was rude, I was tired of her comments and told her to watch it cuz i was left in charge of them, we passed people, homes, by walking through dirt terrain than boom Im in my bed yet in a different home I felt a bad energy around I closed my eyes within that dream and was with a friend of mine, Belem Rios-Lazaro, from years ago she handed me her phone and left. I was looking through her photos and there were photos of us, photos that in reality we did take and photos that we didn’t take, yet it felt as every photo we were in together happened. I knew it was a dream at all times…. I’ve had massive dreams before but these had a deeper meaning behind them… As soon as I woke, i googled the part about the black panther and this is what I found….Black Panther’s Power Includes astral travel, guardian energy, symbol of the feminine, death and rebirth, understanding of death, reclaiming ones power, ability to know the dark, aggressiveness and power without solar influence, reclaiming Power….People with this power animal can develop clairaudience, the ability to hear communications from other forms of life or dimensions. They must trust their thoughts and inner voice/visions as they are based in reality. This is an animal guide to assist you on your path, sometimes in the form of a real person such a mentor or teacher. The Black Panther is endowed with great magic and power, which will increasingly be experienced…. I just had to write this..hope everyone continues having a wonderful week!

Ok, So I have had many weird dreams about all kinds of animals, but who I seem to be conected to the most is the cat. I have many people come to me and say I remind them of a cat and I always would just life and/or purr as a response. It was weird the first time I purred to someone as a response but it was so natural. I have never had a pet cat for my mom is scared of them, but when ever I saw an outside cat I would draw myself to them. I would stop and stare at them and they would look back at me with care and softness. As I became older (19 now) cats have seem to come towards me more often now. It’s really crazy but at that very moment I’m so clam and at peace with life. I’ll be walking and I hear a meow and sometime I don’t even see the cat but I’ll stop and meow back and it goes back forth until they show themselves. One time a cat across the street from my house was meowing for a long time with me and my girlfriend would get mad cause she hates cats and I was freaking her out. But then! The cat walked over to me and purred on my leg and we just kept communicating. It was the craziest thing! It kept trying to go to my gf but I said no cause she was scared and it would stop and look at me and walk back to me. It did this three times until my gf finally went inside. Weird thing now is that my gf and i are having problems and I’m wondering if it was a sign from the cat. Any how I love cats ! I can’t wait to own at least one ^_^

WITHOUT DOUBT, I can reiterate that my animal spirit guides are DOGGIES ….

GOD I adore these beautiful creatures so very much …. I have taken in two abandoned adult doggies and they are the joy and pride of my life …

JULIUS is visually handicapped …. He also needed a cataract op and I found an amazing lady vet who loved him and treated him superbly ….
JULIUS also has respiratory problems ….. He is very attached to me and my hubby …. esp. to me.

LEO is my baybee ….. he my darrlin’ and protects me and takes care of me ….. He loves to roughhouse with my hubby but he plays very decently with me even if I want to roughhouse with him …..

TYLER whom I lost sometime in 2004 IS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME IN SPIRIT FORM …. GOD BLESS HIS NOBLE SOUL ….

I HAVE INTERACTED WITH SO MANY DOGGIES IN THIS LIFETIME ….. THEY ARE SIMPLY AMAZING <3 :)

I PREFER DOGGIES TO HUMANS ….. for obvious reasons ……

I believe mine may be the dog. I’ve wanted to know for a while and dog was suggested. I can’t find out by dreams as I have a love for all creatures. But I found my first do on the side of the road and my second was getting re-homed as they were unwanted. I’m not completely sure though, I am very loving and unjugmental but have no ability to know good from bad because of my trust and love. Maybe the dogs are for guidance and not my spirit animal?

I believe my spirit animal is a cat, just because I seem to befriend cats all the time, they really seem to like me. And I’ve actually seen white cats where they shouldn’t be, I was in hospital a few years ago I was going in to surgery, when I saw this white cat walk down the hall way stop look at me And carry on. I wasn’t asleep or on pain meds at this time. I found the experience strange but the cat felt familiar to me.

I am not sure whether my spirit guide is a dog or cat I know for sure its one of them. I have always had cats only in my 40 years of living I have been without one for maybe 2 years. My husband swears if there is a stray cat within a 20 mile radius it will find its way here..lol. 13 years ago my husband brought a very badly beaten Rottweiler home with him from work. At first I didn’t want him I ran a daycare from my home and I was afraid he would hurt one of my children. However, after watching him very closely for two weeks I knew he would be with us forever. He was until 2011 we had to put him to sleep do to him having sever uncontrollable seizures. I could not bury him so I had him cremated and had him put in a beautiful cedar box. He will be buried with me when I pass. He visits me in my dreams often and I have several pictures thy have orbs in them that are either right by my side or behind me about the height my Copper was. I had wanted to get another Rottweiler, but it took me a year and half even start looking for one. In December of last year I had called half a dozen breeders and all the puppies were spoken for. I was about to give up when I seen one last ad and I called the lady had one male puppy left, but she was waiting on this man to put his deposit down. She said she would give him a call and see what he was doing with the deposit. The man decided to not purchase him so only seeing one picture of him I bought him. We picked him up 6 weeks later when my husband and I first seen him it took our breath away he looked so much like our Copper and he had the exact same soulful eyes. My husband was really taken aback by this he said it could not just be just a fluke that I found him I really don’t either. I believe the Gods guided me to him. I named him from a dream I had he was in before I ever laid eyes on him. His name is Brahma, but I am still not sure which is my spirit guide, because I have had very close relationships with both animals. What do you think?

Reply

Elizabeth March 8, 2013 at 7:25 am

Chasity, this is a beautiful story and thank you for sharing. I would have to actually do a reading to see what your guide is. What this is about is that Copper and now Brahma are your animal companions. Cats are not my Spirit Animals, but I am surrounded by them. They’re my teaching guides and my companions. It’s a gift from Spirit. Enjoy each other.

I believe my spirit animal is the owl. Since I was a child I have always been strangely attracted to them. My parents told me that when I was little I was so completely facinated with them that I would always read about them and draw them. Now as I’m older most of my jewlery is owl shaped, the majority of my clothes have owl patterns and I have an owl with a lock and key tattooed on my right arm. Every time I see one I feel instantly and strongly drawn to it. The only thing is that I’m sure that in most mythology and folk lore the owl is seen as an ill omen of death or evil. I don’t think I like that.

hello, im wondering if there is any special connection between my zodiac (scorpio) and my assumed power animal the panther. i have been reading about the black panther and i almost cant believe that this is my spirit animal, a too good to be true type of feeling. but i have look at aspects of my character and found that my favorite color is black, i always liked sneaky behaviors and have, in a funny relevance, commonly used the traditional black panther pride “power to the people” hand gesture. this was all before i found out, which trips me out. i can see this facial structure similar to a panthers in mine. could you help me?

I know my power animal is the bird, but i wanna know why or what am i supose to learn from this dream i keep getting?

I was asleep in darkness, just me all alone curled up in a little ball. when a crack of light woke me. after a little trouble, i finaly got up and out pushing my way into the light. then i saw a bird there just looking at me. It went closer to me until we were barly touching. then i realized looking back i was in an egg and, i just got hatched and i would be cared for by my new mother who did not speak, but she did still cared for me… a few years later i found my self leaving to explore the world… In one of my adventures i found someone who was omost excaly like me, she was one to have fun and we became great friends… now again i see myself and her in a nest, i also see an egg in the middle of both of us. seeing that i knew we were going to have a family together… after that im on my death bed looking at my kids and my wife, standing in front of me quiet. they finaly spoke and said “I love you”.
Now i lay here alone, with no one around as my world turns to darkness once more. i curl up because i was really cold, falling asleep i see the crack of light again. But this time i ignore it.

Hi, I believe that my power animal is the wolf. When I was 14 I started having dreams about wolves, sometimes I would be a wolf and sometimes I would turn into a wolf. The one I felt most connected with was one where I was running in the woods and slowly without noticing I turned into a wolf. I just kept running. Also I have always had an affinity with all sorts of dogs. I have grown up with them and they always seem to come towards me. I understand what they want or mean just by looking into their eyes. also I can tell whether one is nice or vicious just by looking at it.
I looked up about the wolf as a totem and was surprised at how closely it resembled me and my life. I have always been fascinated by wolves and have often wished to be free and just run like a wolf. Would you say this is my spirt animal?
P.S I have wolf dreams at least once a month, mostly twice.

I am not quite sure what my spirit animal is but I believe it is the snow leopard. The snow leopard has been my favorite animal for years now. A while back I decided to take a quiz based on the movie “The Golden Compass” to see who my daemon (sp?) would be and it gave me a snow leopard named Olin. I never give much thought to quizzes, I just do them for fun, but something about this one stuck. All of the sudden snow leopards became my favorite animal. When I had a chance to do a school project over an animal I chose them. I’ve always loved cats most of all but I never understand my interest in this one. They are smaller than most big cats, and they can’t roar…but I find them majestic and beautiful. I took Olin and made him a partner to a character I created based on myself. Is there any way to know if the snow leopard is truly my spirit animal or not?

Without giving you a reading, I would say that you at least have Olin as a teaching guide.

Hi,

I am troubled with something, and perhaps people here can help me shed some light on it.
Of all animals i feel the most kin-ship with cats. Yet as a kid, i was most fascinated by bats. But every test i take, and following all indicators on how to identify my totem animal i can find always point to the spider. But i am terrified of them to the point of blind panic. I just can’t make heads or tails of it. I guess i would like my totem to be cat or bat. But it looks like the spider is my actual totem. How can a totem animal be that what you dread most? And how do you deal with that?

Some of our biggest teachers are also our biggest fears. It’s more common than you realize. You don’t have to cuddle with them, you just have to learn from them and their traits.

All my life I was fascinated by the wolf and now what I thought was the whale but then when I was walking home my guide told me that he was that what I always felt close to and then I saw the wolf

hey i have been working to realize my connection to the spiritual world and i have started to learn of the tarot. one of my friends told me that once she found her spirit animal she really learned a lot about who she truly was. I tried to meditate on it but as i now realize i was letting my thoughts jumble my path so a few days ago i decided to just relax and stop trying to over think it and slowly the image got less foggy but it wasn’t until today that i truly realized that the animal i had been searching for was the Dog. As soon as i realized it all made sense and i thank your site for giving me more information about my new friend.

Hi Elizabeth ~ I strongly feel that the dolphin is my life guide/companion ~ though sometimes I block against connecting. It took me on an amazing journey once (in a waking, not sleeping, state). There was a point at which I could not follow because I felt fear of (?) ~ the unknown perhaps. Perhaps I was not completely trusting. This guide is still here and will always be, though I have not had such a profound experience since that time about 8 years ago. I am starting to work with it again, trusting, allowing my ‘guard’ to relax ~ really, what is there to fear after all!. I love and relate to all animals though some can be overwhelming or annoying or ….. I am extremely sensitive to animal suffering ~ more so than to human though I am in the healing profession. Recently it seems the bear is knocking at ‘my door’ and I find it both threatening and comforting at the same time. Yet dolphin is (or so I feel) an integral part of my very being. Thank you, I enjoyed the sharing of others’ experiences and your responses.

Hey I was wondering if my spirit animal is a wolf. Because we had a dog named shadow (she’s half wolf) she used to be mean to my step dad n when he came up to her she would bite him. But when I came up to her she would wag her tail and lick me. And I always feel. This connection with wolfs and they always pop up in my dreams.

Hi my name is Chelsey when I was growing up cats would always walk up to me and follow me. This black cat named black jack would walk me to school he would meet me at my door and walk me to school and he would meet me close to my house to walk me home. And cats have always walked up to me and have always been friendly and I’ve saved lots of cats that were homeless. So does that mean my spirit animal is a cat?

I think my spirit animal is the lizard. I can definitely define myself as a big dreamer and I’m always caught up in my fantasies. I love fantastic stories as I want to play them out in my life, and I’m very determined to reach my dreams and goals. I also take Eastern Philosophy to heart as it encourages detatchment from the ego. Finally, I have had a life long love for lizards and reptiles that I could never explain. I was always mesmorized by their sharp, powerful appearance and their cute tails. The first stuffed animals I remember having were little crocodiles, but lizards came quickly after. I remember one day I was upset about something and I found comfort in my lizard stuffed animals. Something about their indpenedent and fearless nature attracted me to them. I love them, so very much, and I’d be disappointed to find my spirit animal something different, but like I learned here, there is a spirit animal that sticks with us our entire life while we let other guides in.
Another interesting thing I find is that as an artistic person, I really thrive in situations or learning experiences that include sight, just as the lizard’s most powerful sense is its sight.

Hi there! I felt like sharing my personal story with you and I would like to know what you think since I myself am not sure of things!
So, sometime ago I discovered totems and Animal Guides. I went and searched deeper and I came to the conclusion that my totem was the wolf! I discovered totems through a video that was about wolves. That was a first step! Since then, every single day I would find wolf references! In magazines, Internet, shirts, TV, books, people talking about them, etc! So, I was happy I found my guide! But at the same time other thing was happening… One of the signs I thought was the wolf was 2 huskies that lived near my school. Especially one. It was a female and one day she was passing by my school and everyone was petting her! But she just kept looking at me! And then she made her way through to me and starred at me! And then howled! Since then, very symbolic references of the dog started appearing! Beside that episode there was another with another dog! One day, I was going home by bus and in the midle of the way It stopped due to a problem and I and a friend of mine had to go home by foot. It was a 1 hour walk. So, me and her were hungry so we stopped by a local supermarket. She was in front of me. So, there were 3 dogs sleeping at the entrance. My friend entered and I was about to do so, but when she passes the dog, he gets up, keeps starring at me and starts walking towards me. We had eye contact the whole thing. So, he stopped in front of me, I pet him and he puts my hand inside his mouth. But he didn’t bite nor was he planning to! He just put my hand inside his mouth. I took my hand out and entered the supermarket. As I did that he started to do little growls like if he was grumpy! When I left, the dog was still there but he did nothing. And that was that.
The next day, I went to school again and as soon as I opens my car’s door a white husky appeared! And then a few white dogs started to appear… But I think the Husky has a meaning! My favorite dog has always been the Husky because I see Honor and pride in them! They are very majestic to me! I also like them because they resemble wolves a lot! And that was another evidence for the wolf… Even though I never saw a wolf in real life!
So, what do you think? :) I really need an opinion about this! :P

Im new at studying. But have been curious as to whom my animal spirit guide is. Over the years i have been really connected with animals. My most favorite animal is lions and tigers. I have a room filled with pics and figurine. I am also fascinated with wolfs especially there eyes. They are very pretty. I have a dog as a pet n she is very special. I now have two birds and since i got them i have been blessed with birds laying there eggs on my porch. I am how ever very affraid of spiders and a few other insects. Just this morning i sat to read about opening the third eye and i litterally read one word when a bird flew into the window and he hit hard but managed to keep flying what is your thoughts. Thank you.

I’m really interested in knowing once and for all what my animal totem is. I really feel as if spiritually I’m a little hindered because I do not really know for sure. As a child I always had an obsession with the moon and the night. Even now I have a love of the night sky, although I have had to adapt because of my daily life but I still feel the night sky in my heart. I understand the importance of day and balance, I know that one cannot just be the moon but can have moment when they’re as bright as the sun. I also have had odd dreams when I was younger that would come true, either very short (I call them snippets) or full length dreams of things that would come weeks, or even years later which gave me the biggest shocks of deja vu. I feel like those dreams have dwindled because I got more distant from my spiritual level. I have been able to predict outcomes of a situation or give surprisingly good advice to people going through situations that I myself haven’t experienced. My intelligence is sometimes underestimated because of my age (17 by the way), and I’m looked at as not having alot of insight on the world, despite being able to things going on that people older and younger than me couldn’t catch onto. Even at a really young age i have been able to grasp social cues, and when my parents split up when I was 6, I never once hoped that they would get back together. I have an oddly good memory. Although oddly, nowadays i can’t remember that much :/. My earliest memory was at age one, i believe. Although psychology dictates that young children don’t start to remember until age 3. I remember being in a high chair and tossing a plate of corned beef, corn and rice on the ground along with a spoon and climbing a chair to blow out a lone candle. I remember having a big love for butterflies, reading books about them and often wearing them on my clothes. My friends describe me as charismatic, funny, bold, practically fearless(except for my fear of spiders and not living up to my potential), feminine (not really girly), smart, and insightful. When i was younger i felt a little off and my odd dreams that made me feel deja vu began to dwindle when i moved to a new neighborhood and was left out by other kids. I was really sensitive as a child and cried alot at home, especially at night. I held in my emotions and felt like my life wasn’t worth living all through the tender ages of 10-12. i used to find comfort in writing and i liked poetry for awhile, but now i love to perform and i like reading plays and watching movies although i can still be really shy about it. I got more outgoing when i hit middle school and in high school i began to care a little less about what other people thought. When i felt threatened by my family I’d hide in the comfort of my friends. Sometimes I’d treasure them more than my actual family because they seemed more like my real family to me. Although at times I’d have alot of friends, I’d know who my real friends were and stuck to even one that i have known for 9 years. When i look for a relationship i want one that lasts forever, i don’t waste time with just dating to date. People may laugh at me when i say that because im not even 20 yet, but i believe strongly in ‘mating’ for life. It’s just how i am. I can be distant sometimes and want to be alone, but i also appreciate being surrounded by those who love me most. I am gregarious and i am a big laugher. I believe in the spiritual and balancing that with the physical and mental. When i looked into totem animals i kept getting the wolf. On most quizzes i took, i got the wolf, even on keshas’ fan website (haha i know). And i tried to meditate and see it, but me being me, i ended up falling asleep. I had the weirdest dream. I was in a forest in darkness. I was across the lake and i had seen a pair of amber eyes looking at me. Then it cut off into a wolf howling at the moon on a cliff and as to join it i began to howl and i was half awake my neck was arched and my back was coming off the bed up towards the ceiling and i was howling. Weird right? Last night i had a dream about cats and i felt my spirit animal had changed and i felt a little sad because i felt like i had neglected my spirit animal :(. I wonder if you’d be able to give me a reading because I’m really confused and I really would like to know.

I dont know what my animal totem is and im curious to know.At one point or another I’ve owned 3 dogs and a snake ( although it died a couple days after I got it but I felt we had a strong connection)I always see wild cats in my backward, there alway seems to be one when I walk out the back door. I also always see squirrels but it may not been anything since i have alot of trees in my backyard.ive always been intrigued with bald eagles but ive never had any interaction with them.Right now Im going thru a tough time in life and finding myself I recently had a dream in which I was fighting with friends and after the altercation a deer( didn’t have antlers) lured me into a building under construction and told me to trust him to not want to be like him and to leave while I still could. Without asking or saying anything back I woke up. Any thoughts on this?

Hi there,
I’m not sure if bear is my animal totem or not . I remember as a child my mum would buy polar and black bear teddy bears for me. As I grew older whenever I was in bear country I seemed to be able to sense their presence. I remember telling one of my friends to get back inside the trailer because the bear was here. I can remember her telling me I was just a chicken. I physically picked her up and put her inside the trailer. A few minutes later out walked the black bear. Anothe instance with a different friend where I told her to get back into the car because the bear was near .same thing happened. My friend told me I was paranoid but got back into the car. A few minutes later out walked the black bear. I can repeat the same type of story over and over it is always the black bear that walks out. Any input you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I believe mines the cat, even tho I’ve always been a dog person.
I’ve only had about 2cats in my life, I just feel connected to them somehow.
I used to have this cat who used to just go out and bring back
Medium sized to large bunnies kill them and just leave them at my
front door, I knew he was just doin it to show his gratitude so I wouldn’t get
mad at him and just take it as a gift. He must have gone out and brought back about
20 bunnies I shit you not, he was a pretty big and agile cat, I remember seeing him catch a
humming bird right in front of my eyes, man he was a special cat.

But anyways, I have always had a weird connection with cats, when ever I walk by outside
cats they just lay there instead of running away as if they want me to pet them
and today I had the weirdest dream ever, well more like an out of body experience.
I was trying to turn on thats in my because I had waken up in the middle
Of the night and it was dark but for some weird reason they wouldn’t turn on. I
Tried every light in my room and every time a light wouldn’t work I kept returning to my physical
Body but wouldn’t wake up till dreamt I opened my room door and a white cat ran out my room not till then was I able to wake up which was really weird cause I don’t own any cats at the moment.

I have recently started looking into spirit animals and I have had an interesting time finding mine. That is until this morning. I have done tests, talked to friends and have gotten answers from dolphins, to eagles, to wolves, to a humming bird.

Going through meditation into the fields of my mind asking imaginary animals if they were my spirit guide seemed to provide me with little knowledge as I could sense something in the forests of my mind, but could never quite make out its form.

Then last night I sat down and said I would dream of my spirit animal and the only thing I remember about my dreams last night, was meeting a wolf-dog named Milagro (I work at a wolf rescue and I believe my mind used him because I consider him the animal with the least amount of wolf in him.) and speaking about a dog to one of my friends. From the beginning I guess I should have realized it was a dog considering its traits and what I constantly strive to be. Plus I share a special connection with dogs, and am always able to tell where they are (if I go to class and there is an animal at the pond in the middle of the university, I somehow am always walking that way and make eye contact) Such an interesting world haha but at least I have found it, so now it is time to learn.

I don’t dream very often, but when I do some form of dog is always there if not with me or beside me. It is mostly a black wolf, most tell me it is bad to walk through my dreams with such a creature beside me but in my dreams the black wolf and I have a powerful connection and it often protects me, guides me, etc. I’m able to pet it and treat it as if it was a normal house pet. However, I also see two white dogs running through my dreams as well, they never get close enough for me to make any contact with them and I only see them briefly, they are only about knee high and are identical twins, they are always together much like twins ,they give of a fun loving and joyous aura, however I don’t have as strong a connection with them as I do my black wolf who gives off a more powerful and protective energy. I have yet to experience all three in the same dream, but I began seeing them outside of my dreams when I walk home or glance out my window during the night, I’m not scared of them but think of them as my guardians . I’ve been told the white twins are good, but only a few have told me the same of the black wolf, I don’t think he’s bad at all I think they are all good and are around for different reasons in guiding me to something.

Not sure if the cat is our spirit helper or not but about a year and a half ago we noticed a couple of feral cats hanging around our home. Today we noticed two cats in our neighbors yard sitting on a stump watching us outside and watching our home which made us very curious as to why these cats are just watching our home for no apparent reason. We have never seen these new cats before and it could be just nothing but just curious to know if maybe my husband or I have a cat as a spirit helper who is now trying to make itself known. We do have a cat and dogs but with it still being cold out it’s not like they are attracted to our cat since she hasn’t been sitting in a window for months nor is she an outdoor cat.

I always find myself drawn to hawks. One time we were at a carnival and they had a hawk/bird show. We sat down and the hawk show and we sat down and thw hawk started to fly and I looked to a a tree and thought of the hawk sitting there and the hawk flew off the flight path and landed in the tree and was staring at me. I looked away and I sensed it flying above my head and sure enough it was there back on the flight pqth as if nothing had happened. Does this mean my animal spirit is a hawk?

When I was 11 I met my spirit guide. Its a snow leopard without spots and it’s kind of a big white cat. I met it in a dream and since I was 11 my subconcience named it Moonfur. She says its not her real name and that some day she’ll tell me it. Now I can telepathically connect with it and talk. She has taught me a lot.
