Animal Spirit Totem – Deer

One of the first things I do every morning when I first wake up is change the water for my cats.  I looked up this morning while filling the water bowls and there in my backyard stood a beautiful deer.  He was a buck and had some big and beautiful antlers.  He was HUGE.  The first thing I thought was, “Wow, he’s REALLY close to the house”.  The second thing I thought was, “wonder what he wants to teach me today??”  Every time I see an animal that seems to be oddly placed or that seems to be RIGHT in my eyes view, I always stop and reflect.  When they are that close, it sure is not hard to find my power animal! You can bet there is an animal spirit guide trying to teach you a lesson if that is the case.

Deer teaches us a few things:

  • Ability to listen
  • Understanding what is necessary to survive
  • The ability to sacrifice of oneself for the greater good of all
  • Alternative ways to get to a goal
  • Gracefulness and beauty

And my personal favorite !!!!

How awesome is that ???  First thing in the morning, I get a message from an animal spirit totem to stay in gratitude!!   Another little factoid that I find interesting with this story is that this morning I made it a point to say “thank you, thank you, thank you” over and over as I was getting out of bed and heading to the kitchen to fill bowls.  What animal spirit guides do you have around you?  Do you have a favorite animal? An animal that shows up on a frequent basis? An animal that was oddly placed in your path?  I can help you find your power animal you know! ( I know, shameless plug! )

Today I am going to stay in an attitude of gratitude thanks to my teaching power animal spirit guide of the day!  What are YOU grateful for today???  I am going to start with the Deer itself and how beautiful and graceful it was as he grazed and then ran.  Have a GRATE-FULL day!!!

Hi I’m Angela Marie and my spirit guide is a Reindeer… Because…. when I was about 13 I was camping in Colorado with my cousin. We were hiking back from a restaurant and we got lost on our way back. We were really scared and didn’t know where we would end up sleeping that night. We were lost for about 45 minutes but eventually found our way back thankfully.. That night I had a dream~ a dream that a Reindeer was following me and protecting me in the middle of a cold snow storm…I wasn’t wearing anything and couldn’t see in front of me. I could just feel the cold snow falling on me. I was safe though, I had peace. The reindeer lit up in white lights all around and then I was back at home and everything was fine. I am Christian so don’t be judge mental with native American beliefs, but I think God does have a purpose for letting me know about that Reindeer in my dream… A Guardian Angel that is! I carry him with me when things aren’t safe. I carry God with me no matter what*

Angela Marie – I’m glad you got that message about the Reindeer and what a COOL dream! Thanks for sharing. Guides often do “light the way” for us. That’s their job. I’m not sure what you think you know about Native Americans and God but I haven’t met a Nation yet that didn’t worship God. The ancient Cherokees called him “Aba” …. which is translated to “Great Father or Great Spirit”. Thanks!!!

The deer has been on your mind since you saw it … hence the dream. 🙂 You’re a kind soul Liz.

About two years ago, my family and I were out in a forest-like park when we saw a doe standing just a the edge of the forest. I was entranced and I walked right up to it and got about maybe four to five feet away when my step-brother scared it. It ran away but I felt a connection with it. Everything I’ve dug up about them has fit my description to a T at least in what I can tell. But, whenever I think of an animal, a fox is what comes to mind. I guess that just means I’ll keep them both in mind and keep track of each. Your website is very intersting by the way.
